Despite the lack of official permission from the administration for Secondary-Higher Secondary, the annual Kumbh Mela commenced in Tribeni from noon on Monday. Today, Tuesday, 'Shahi Snan' is scheduled to take place at Saptarishi Ghat. However, amidst the festivities, concerns have been raised by saints and monks regarding the inadequate arrangements, particularly concerning the availability of toilets.
Numerous saints and monks from various parts of the country have arrived for the event, only to find a lack of proper facilities. Sadhu Chetan Giri Nagababa from Kamakshya expressed his frustration, stating, "I could not find the toilet in the morning. That's why I have done the morning ritual at Gangapar.'' Similar sentiments were echoed by Sadhu Rajeev Giri from Bangaon, who lamented the authorities' neglect towards the needs of the saints.

The event is being organized since last few years here and the arrangements are being iproved conteniously. Despite the glitches, the Kumbh Mela is being carried out letting the pilgrims take advantage.
In response to the complaints, the 'Tribeni Kumbh Management Society' refuted claims of toilet shortages, asserting that organic toilets have been arranged at the fairgrounds along with a few permanent facilities, totaling 40 in number. However, this assurance does little to placate the discontent among attendees.
The discrepancy between the administration's claims and the reality on the ground has sparked concerns among environmental activists, particularly regarding the pollution of the Ganges. Environmental activist Biswajit Mukherjee criticized the lack of adherence to environmental regulations, labeling it as an administrative failure.
Despite the challenges, security measures have been heightened around the fairgrounds, with increased police presence. However, concerns persist regarding the lack of adequate seating arrangements for the saints, who have been relegated to the premises of an abandoned refugee camp across the Ganga.
The historical significance of the Kumbh Mela in Tribeni, which dates back seven centuries, underscores the importance of addressing these issues promptly to ensure a smooth and successful event.
