The Asia Cup T20 tournament is starting this month. India will play its first match against Pakistan on August 28. Earlier, big news has come out for the Indian team. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah may be ruled out of the entire Asia Cup. If this happens then there may be problems for Team India. 

Bumrah is currently battling a back injury. If he does not play, the Indian team may suffer in the Asia Cup. India has been placed in Group A. The second team will be Pakistan and the third qualifying team. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have been placed in Group B. A total of 13 matches will be played in this tournament from 27 August to 11 September.

This time the Asia Cup will be played in T20 format. The tournament, which started in 1984, was played in the 50-over format till 2014. Then in 2016 due to T20 World Cup it was played in T20 format. Then under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian team became the champion.

In 2018, once again this tournament was played in the ODI format and under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India became the champion. Now this year due to the T20 World Cup, once again this tournament will be played in the T20 format.
