The Los Angeles Dodgers got an important victory this Wednesday after defeating the San Diego Padres 5-2 to take the series.

The team won two of three games as visitors at Petco Park and maintain a 1.5 game lead over San Diego.

The Dodgers finish the six-game trip with three wins and three losses against the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Padres.

The team has managed to finish 13 consecutive games with a positive record of 7 wins and 6 losses. The only series they lost was against St. Louis and they tied the New York Mets in four games.

Teoscar Hernandez gave the Dodgers the win

The Dodgers reached the third game of the series after losing 11-1 this Tuesday against the Padres. The NL West lead was also in jeopardy.

Ben Casparius took over as the starter due to the plague of injuries on the pitching staff.

San Diego started winning in the second inning with a bases-loaded walk to Martín Maldonado.

Michael Conforto, who has been criticized all season, responded with a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Teoscar Hernández dressed as a hero in the sixth inning with a long three-run homer to put the team ahead, a lead they would never relinquish.

The Padres attacked, but could only score one run thanks to a sacrifice fly by Gavin Sheets.

In the ninth inning, Shohei Ohtani hit a triple and scored the fifth run after a single by Will Smith.

Ohtani became the second player in the last 10 years to have three 20-homer, 5-triple seasons in a single season alongside Mike Trout.

Dave Roberts used as many as eight pitchers to earn the win. Alex Vesia earned his third save of the season after finishing the ninth inning without a hitch.

The win went to Lou Trivino,who pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
