Heung-min Son praised Carlos Vela and recognized that he is not at his level
The South Korean considers Carlos Vela a legend of Los Angeles FC. Son recalled matches against the Mexican
The arrival of Heung-min Son to Los Angeles FC represents a great leap in quality for the American team. Son became the most expensive signing in Major League Soccer. However, the South Korean's impact would not surpass that of Carlos Vela. This is what the former Tottenham player acknowledged.

Heung-min Son was one of the most important players in the Premier League in recent years. The Asian forward could have stayed in Europe due to his high level of performance, but he will play with LAFC and this has revolutionized the tournament.
Son's signing has been compared to that of Carlos Vela. In fact, it is estimated that the South Korean could lead Los Angeles FC to championships and, with them, break some records. But Heung-min Son believes he is not at the level of the Bomber .
To be honest, I am not at that level. I played against him a few times and he is incredible. He is a fantastic player and everything he did for this team; he is a true legend and I aspire to that, in a few years when I leave, to be part of that group of legends who gave everything, said Heung-min Son.
In 2019 Carlos Vela had a dream season and set a record within Major League Soccer. That year, the Mexican forward scored 34 goals in 31 matches, breaking Josef Martínez's record of 31 goals.
Overall, the "Bomber" played 189 matches for Los Angeles FC. In 13,994 minutes on the field, Carlos Vela contributed 93 goals and 54 assists for the Los Angeles team. The Mexican made his mark in the MLS.
Son preferred the MLS.
The former Tottenham player had a high level of play that could have allowed him to stay in European football. Heung-min Son himself acknowledged that he had offers from other teams, but that he ultimately decided on Los Angeles thanks to talks with general manager John Thorrington and his former teammate Hugo Lloris.
“If I’m honest, he wasn’t my first choice. But from the first call when I spoke to John after the season ended, he just changed my mind. He changed my heart. He changed my brain. He showed me the destination where I should be. Right now, I’m here. I’m more than happy,” the South Korean added.
