Neetu comes from a modest family. His father Jai Bhagwan works as a bill messenger in the assembly. Hailing from Dhanana village in Bhiwani, Haryana, Neetu started her boxing career in 2012, but could not win a medal for two years. After this she became disheartened and started thinking of quitting boxing. However, the father encouraged him and asked him to keep working hard. The result of this was that Neetu made a strong comeback. The biggest moment of his career came in 2022, when he won the gold medal for the country at the Commonwealth Games.
