Bryan Angulo, champion with Cruz Azul, was shot this Thursday in the town of Porto Viejo, Ecuador, when he was going to train, he suffered the impact of a projectile in one of his legs, after a group of players were attacked by two men on a motorcycle.

Angulo, who was part of the cement workers' champion team in the 2021 Clausura tournament, works for the Portoviejo League, where he was the victim of this attack near the Real Tamarindos stadium, when an armed man arrived with a group of soccer players and without warning opened fire on them, hitting the former Cruz Azul player in the leg.

The first reports from the authorities establish that Angulo was hit by a bullet in the leg, but it was announced that he was out of danger, while the authorities opened two lines of investigation to determine in the next few hours whether it was an attack or a robbery that went wrong for the criminals.

Two alleged culprits arrested

For now, the National Police of Ecuador announced that two suspects of having participated in the attack against Bryan Angulo were arrested and are being investigated to find out if they are involved in the attack against the former player Cruz Azul, for which they are being investigated for attempted murder.
