Julio Cesar Chavez insists on the innocence of his son
The legendary Mexican boxer is confident that

Julio Cesar Chavez spoke from the heart again. The former Mexican world champion reiterated this Monday his full confidence in the innocence of his son, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who is on parole in the United States after having been arrested on charges of organized crime and arms trafficking.
“We are in a process, everything will be clarified. We know that my son is innocent,” declared the historic boxer, considered the best Mexican boxer of all time.
Chavez, with a professional record of 107 wins (87 consecutive), six losses and two draws, assured that beyond the controversies, he is proud of the way his son has tried to get his life back on track after overcoming addictions.
Between defending his family and returning to the ring
The legendary former boxer also highlighted his son's mental strength, recalling the fight he had on June 28 against YouTuber Jake Paul, a bout that ended in defeat for the Mexican but which, according to his father, had a different kind of courage.
“Boxing isn’t easy; just getting into the ring against Jake Paul and going through the hell he went through was a triumph for me,” said the former super featherweight, lightweight, and super lightweight champion.
According to Chavez, his son is already training in Tijuana with the goal of returning to the ring on December 13, the date on which he plans to fight again and begin a career closure that would include “three or four more fights before retirement.”
Julio Cesar Chavez himself believes that his son still has the talent to compete. “It was time for him to win, but he didn’t throw any punches in the first rounds. Afterwards, he put Paul in a difficult position, but it was too late. He’s preparing; he knows what he has to do: reform.”
World Boxing Council Support
The president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaiman, also expressed his support for the former champion’s son. “Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is a good person and is ready to move on with his life,” he stated.
Sulaiman assured that the organization will support him in this new phase,With caution and hope. "He's going to fight on December 13, but we have to keep our feet on the ground, allow him to return, be active, and we'll see what happens later. We have the opportunity to embrace him, welcome him back, and allow him to return to his normal life."
Chavez Jr., who has 54 wins, seven losses, and one draw, is going through a decisive period in his career. He has lost five of his last nine fights, hampered by discipline issues and substance abuse.
