Myles Garrett sets NFL single-season sack record
Myles Garrett is only 13 sacks away from entering the NFL's all-time top 10
The record is also a reflection of the collective effort and the defensive system implemented by Jim Schwartz, Cleveland's defensive coordinator, under whose guidance Garrett has further enhanced his impact on the game. Until this season, only 12 players in NFL history had managed to surpass the 20-sack mark in a single season.
With this performance, Garrett is shaping up as the leading candidate to win the Defensive Player of the Year award, an accolade he already won in 2023. His trajectory is strongly pointing towards the Hall of Fame: in October he surpassed Reggie White for the most sacks before turning 30 and currently has 124.5 career sacks.
