Real Oviedo of Veljko Paunovic loses advantage against Barcelona and falls at home 1-3
The team led by the former Chivas coach went into the locker room winning 1-0, but in the second half Barca made them see their luck
Barcelona managed to come back from a match in which a feisty Real Oviedo took the lead and which forced the Catalans to pull out a magic trick in the second half (1-3) with goals from Eric Garcia, Robert Lewandowski and Ronald Araujo.
Veljko Paunovic opted for Santi Cazorla from the start and for the Bailly-Carmo partnership in the heart of the defence for the first time this season, while Hansi Flick made almost no rotations and, apart from Casado replacing De Jong in midfield, the Barca eleven was as regular as possible.
From the very first moment, Real Oviedo looked at their most determined and even attacking of the season, taking four corners before the 10th minute and linking Carlos Tartiere from almost the first play, although it was Rashford who had the first chance of the match after a cross from the right by Raphinha.
Pedri dominated the centre of the pitch for the Blaugranas, but Oviedo also responded and both Santi Cazorla and Alberto Reina managed to secure possession for the Blues; In the 25th minute, Lucas crossed from the right and Eric Garcia prevented Rondon from finishing cleanly at the near post.
After Raphinha hit the post with a shot from the edge of the area, Real Oviedo scored just after the half-hour mark: Joan Garcia came out to a long pass towards Rondon, managed to cut it out and then made a mistake, something that allowed Alberto Reina to score a wonderful goal from a few meters beyond the center of the field.
The second half started with a change made by Barcelona, ????De Jong for Casado, and although the cule team dominated the ball, there were no chances that put Aaron Escandell in danger and it was Hassan who left Gerard Martin behind to put in a cross that Joan Garcia cleared.
Just when it seemed that Barca were struggling to create danger with any regularity, the equalizer came ten minutes after the restart: Araujo crossed from the right after a corner, Ferran Torres shot and on the rebound from Aaron, Eric Garcia appeared to tap it in and make it 1-1.
Time for changes in the game and the 1-2 arrived; Ilic and Sibo came on for Cazorla and Hassan for Oviedo, Lewandowski came on for Raphinha for Barcelona and the first ball the Polish striker touched was a header into the top corner after a cross from De Jong from the right.
A couple of dangerous crosses from Brekalo were the only things Real Oviedo could do in the final stretch of the match and Barcelona, ????from a corner, sealed the match with Araujo scoring 1-3 and sealing a new victory that leaves the Catalans two points behind Real Madrid and the Blues in the relegation places of La Liga.
