How much money will the 2026 World Cup champion receive?
This is the World Cup that will award the highest prize in history. There are four prizes left to be distributed between Argentina, Spain, France and England
The winner of the final between Spain and Argentina, next Sunday at the Metlife Stadium in New York/New Jersey will receive a prize of $50 million dollars (43.71 million euros).
The winner will take home $8 million more than Argentina earned for the title in Qatar 2022 and $20 million more than the Spanish team earned when it won its only World Cup, in 2010.
For the runner-up, the prize is $33 million dollars, the third place winner, $29 million, and the fourth place winner, $27 million dollars.
To this we must add the contributions that the International Federation gave to each team just for participating. FIFA announced on April 28, after the Council meeting in Vancouver, Canada, a 15 percent increase in allocations to the federations of the 48 participating teams, reaching $871 million.
Each federation received $10 million for qualifying, $2.5 million for preparation, and help with delegation costs and ticket allowances totaling $16 million in total.
The clubs also win. Eleven thousand euros per day that give a player to their national team, which in the case of Atlético de Madrid, with nine finalists, and Barcelona, with eight, makes them the ones that have earned the most from the World Cup.
