Santiago Giménez gives good signs to “Chaco”
"Bebote" would be physically recovered. Christian Giménez has good impressions of his son's recovery
There is less than a month until the start of the 2026 World Cup. Mexico will have the opening duel at the Azteca Stadium on June 11. Their rival will be the South African team. There is less and less time for El Tri's players to get ready. Christian Giménez has good impressions of his son Santiago's recovery.
Santiago Giménez suffered an injury to his right ankle at the end of October. The Mexican forward underwent surgery in December to treat his discomfort. “Bebote” was without action for more than four months.
The Mexican forward has been getting back into his rhythm with a handful of minutes with AC Milan. The plan is for Santiago Giménez to be able to arrive at the World Cup with some competitive rhythm. Chirstian Giménez, the footballer's father, assured that he sees his son in good condition.
"I feel very good physically. The injury has not bothered him in the least. He went from less to more, accumulating minutes and he has already started two games (...) He understands the (recovery) processes," Chirstian Giménez said in a statement to the media.
Santiago Giménez has seen action in 6 of AC Milan's last 8 games. The Mexican attacker played against Torino (13 minutes), Napoli (27 minutes), Hellas Verona (27 minutes), Sassuolo (31 minutes), Atalanta (58 minutes) and the last duel against Genoa (68 minutes).
Santiago Giménez's main objective is to be on Javier Aguirre's final list for the 2026 World Cup. Although it could be assumed that “Bebeote” has a guaranteed spot, his entourage does not trust him.
"Being in the national team is the nicest thing that can happen to you. First his season ended and now we are all waiting for that call with great anxiety," added the Rossoneri footballer's father.
