Andy Ruiz and Eddie Hearn joined forces for the Mexican's return to the ring
Andy Ruiz has been inactive for two years outside the ring, having only played three fights in the last six years.
The highest category of professional boxing registers an alliance that promises to change the panorama of the division by the end of the season. The former world champion of Mexican origin, Andy Ruiz, concluded a representation agreement with the British promoter Eddie Hearn, director of the Matchroom Boxing company, with the aim of reactivating his career in the short term.
This new business relationship seeks to once again position the fighter on the path to a world title opportunity.

The promoter's work team is confident that the boxer's experience and adequate physical preparation will be the determining factors to compete against the current leaders of the heavyweight category.
The background of a historic business relationship
The first contact between both protagonists originated through digital platforms in 2019, when the fighter directly requested an opportunity to compete in the world championships. The request came after Anthony Joshua's original opponent returned positive results in multiple pre-fight doping tests.
The promotion agreed to integrate Andy Ruiz into the card held on June 1 of that year in New York, a match that culminated in a decision via technical knockout in the seventh round. Seven years after that event at Madison Square Garden, the boxer will begin a new stage under the direction of the British businessman, who trusts in the physical abilities of his new client.
The technical analysis and the expectations of the promoter
The leader of the promotion company expressed his agreement when signing the contract and highlighted the impact that the athlete's return will have on the international classifications. In this regard, the British promoter declared before his company's official media the value that the boxer's signature brings to its event platform.
“I am delighted to welcome Andy to the team,” Eddie Hearn told Matchroom Boxing news channels regarding the addition of Andy Ruiz. “The heavyweight landscape is always changing, and a fighter completely in shape and at his best level represents a nightmare for anyone in the division,” the manager pointed out about the projected performance for the Mexican athlete.
“Andy surprised the world in New York with his victory over AJ,” added the businessman in his speech for the official Matchroom Boxing channels. “And if the guy from that night returns to the ring, I have no doubt that he can become a two-time world champion,” concluded the British promoter regarding the goals of the training camp.
Agenda and confirmation of the next fight
The boxer has a prolonged inactivity of two years outside the ring, having only fought three fights over the course of the last six years of his professional career. Given this situation, the priority of Andy Ruiz's corner is to schedule a preparation camp that allows him to regain the rhythm of competition immediately.
Reports from the promoter indicate that this Friday the official announcement of their next commitment in the ring will be made, tentatively scheduled for the month of September. Negotiations indicate that the opponent selected for this first presentation under the new commercial firm will be the Polish boxer Damian Knyba.
