The Inter Miami of the Argentines that fights again in the MLS
In addition to Messi, Inter Miami has eleven other Argentine footballers in its squad. The American team has the Albiceleste seal
At Inter Miami they drink mate much more frequently. Since the arrival of Lionel Messi to the American team, “Las Garzas” have acquired many Argentine soccer players. Currently there are up to twelve “Gauchos” footballers within the club led by Guillermo Hoyos, another Argentine.
In a club where Americans took a backseat, Inter Miami is full of Argentine footballers. For the 2026 Major League Soccer season, “Las Garzas” have a very solid group of players born in Argentina.
Inter Miami has Rocco Ríos Novo in goal. In defense there are two Argentine players: full-back Facundo Mora and center-back Gonzalo Luján. In midfield are Rodrigo de Paul and David Ayala. The attack includes Germán Berterame, Tadeo Allende, Mateo Silvetti and Lionel Messi.
In David Beckham's team there are also Tomás “Toto” Avilés, a footballer on loan to CF Montréal, Benjamín Cremaschi, on loan to Parma and Santiago Morales. These last two have Argentine passports, but have represented the United States.
The “Inter of the Argentines” has a market value of around $99.3 million dollars. Lionel Messi and Rodrigo de Paul are the highest valued footballers on the squad (both are valued at $17.7 million dollars).
The Messi effect
Lionel Messi signed with Inter Miami in July 2023. The Argentine footballer left Paris Saint-Germain to live his adventure in Major League Soccer. Messi's arrival at the club increased the number of Argentines in the team.
Before Lionel Messi signed with David Beckham's team, Inter Miami only had two Argentine footballers on its roster. “Las Garzas” only had Franco Negri and Nicolás Stefanelli. Benjamín Cremaschi also appeared in the lower categories. This panorama has changed radically.
