First from January to March and second after the end of monsoon. This is the time when there is a spurt in the cases of viral fever in India. According to ICMR, subtype H3N2 of Influenza A has been found in half of all cases of fever since December 15. Half of the hospitalized patients are victims of H3N2. Out of the total admitted patients, 92% are facing fever, 86% cough and 27% are facing difficulty in breathing. At the same time, 16% had difficulty in breathing and 16% had pneumonia and 6% had seizures. 10% of H3N2 patients need oxygen and 7% need ICU.

What does the data of the Ministry of Health say (LATEST DATA ON H3N2)

Till March 9, 3038 cases of H3N2 influenza virus have been confirmed in the country. Out of these, about 1200 cases were notified in the month of January and 1300 in February. Talking about the month of March, 486 cases have been registered till March 9 only. If we look at adding all types of viral fever, about 4 lakh cases were registered in the month of January, whereas in February 4 lakh 36 thousand and about 1 lakh 33 thousand cases have been reported in only 9 days of March.

In January, 7041 patients needed to be admitted. 6919 patients have been admitted in February and 1866 in March so far. In the months of January and February, 955 cases of H1N1 were also reported.

According to the study, at present three types of viruses are active in India, in which the most prevalent subtype of Influenza A virus is H3N2.

what medicine will work

According to WHO, Oseltamivir can be useful in the treatment of H3N2. Earlier, during the spread of H1N1, this drug has been widely used in India. It is sold under the brand name Tamiflu and is easily available. Government hospitals give this medicine free of cost.

ICMR issued advisory

In H3N2 disease, it is more dangerous than other viruses. Patients suffering from this may have to be admitted to the hospital. To avoid this, ICMR has issued an advisory.

Important things of advisory

1. Wear a mask and avoid crowded places for the time being.

2. Cover nose and mouth while coughing and sneezing.

3. Do not touch eyes and nose repeatedly.

4. If you have fever and body pain, take paracetamol.

5. Don't shake hands with each other.

6. Don't spit in public places.

7. Do not take antibiotics, unless the doctor tells you to do so.

8. Avoid eating food sitting together in a group.
