ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 satellite created history on Wednesday evening by landing the Vikram lander in the south polar region of the Moon. With this, India has become the first country to do this feat. However, in terms of making a soft landing on the Moon, India is at number four after Russia, America and China. Rover 'Pragyan' was ejected from Vikram Lander after landing on the lunar surface. The space agency on Saturday shared another new video, in which Pragyan is seen moving around the Shiva Shakti point at the South Pole in search of mysteries.

Both Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover are powered by solar energy. They have been properly transported to the moonlit place. Pragyan and Vikram will be able to work if there is light for 14 days. The lander Vikram is named after Vikram Sarabhai, the father of India's space technology.

The biggest challenge for the scientists was to reduce the speed of Vikram Lander before landing on the lunar surface. For this, Vikram Lander was placed in an orbit of 125x5 km. After this it was deorbited. When it was sent towards the surface of the moon, its speed was more than six thousand kilometers per hour. After a few minutes, the speed was drastically reduced. Four engines were used to land it, but Vikram was landed with the help of two engines.

Pragyan has been walking on the lunar surface ever since a ramp opened from the Vikram lander. It is continuously sending pictures from the lunar surface to Vikram Lander. Pragyan Rover and Vikram Lander can talk to each other. But Pragyan cannot directly communicate with ISRO's command center in Bengaluru. But Vikram can communicate with both Lander Command Center and Pragyan.

Chandrayaan-3 was launched on 14 July 2023. It was launched by an LVM3-M4 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Its total cost is Rs 615 crore. ISRO has already tried to land on the moon. For this he had sent Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2 towards the Moon. Four years ago, ISRO attempted to land Chandrayaan-2 on the lunar surface, but shortly before its landing, it lost contact with ISRO's control center in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, ISRO has informed that one of the three objectives of the mission is to complete the work of safe and soft landing on the lunar surface. Apart from this, the demonstration of the rover roaming on the moon has also been completed. At the same time, in-situ scientific experiments are being conducted. The space agency reported that all payloads are working normally.
