A new case has come to light from Nagpur, where 56-year-old Sarikonda Raju has been made a victim of cyber fraud. Raju had to lose about Rs 77 lakh in this fraud. The cyber criminal first contacted Raju through his Telegram account. Raju was convinced by luring him big money by liking the video. Raju was asked to like a YouTube video and share its screenshot.

Raju also received some money in the beginning. Encouraged by these transactions, he went a step further and shared his bank account details, believing that this would yield the promised earnings. However, the opposite happened. As soon as the fraudster got information about Raju's bank account, he started unauthorized transactions and a huge amount was withdrawn from his account.

Notably, "liking" a video on YouTube may seem like a straightforward task, but this incident highlights the need for cautious online behavior, be suspicious of unsolicited offers, and protect personal financial information. An easy way to avoid any such fraud is to not share your banking information or OTP with anyone. You should also check any links before clicking on them.
