Devastating fire devastates with more than 1,000 acres in Riverside
The fire grew from the merging of two separate incidents at noon this Wednesday in Aguanga; the flames have grown to 1,096 acres
A wildfire that originated from two separate fires before joining grew to more than 1,000 acres in the community of Aguanga, keeping evacuation orders and warnings in effect in southern Riverside County.
The fire, which started at noon Wednesday, had burned 1,096 acres, with 28% containment, according to Cal Fire data.
The two fires were reported at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday: the first, in the area of Riverdale Drive and Highway 371, while the second started about three-quarters of a mile south of Bradford Road and Gelding Way, the Riverside County Fire Department said.
