Bella Hadid suffers a new relapse of Lyme and tells it through tears on Instagram

The model Bella Hadid recently shared on her Instagram stories a new episode of her fight against Lyme disease, a condition she has suffered since she was 14 years old and that continues to affect her quality of life.
In a publication accompanied by a photograph of her crying, the 29-year-old described the serious symptoms she is experiencing: extreme exhaustion, brain fog, anxiety and shortness of breath. “I was out of breath walking to the kitchen,” he wrote wryly, adding that completing a shower without passing out was “a huge achievement.”
Hadid explained that, despite sleeping 11 hours a day and following all medical protocols, she has found no relief. "I haven't been able to shake this outbreak. I followed every protocol from each and every doctor I've seen. Nothing helps yet," he confessed.
The emotional impact
The model also addressed the psychological consequences of her condition: “These episodes cause me severe isolation and depression, especially over long periods of time.” With an ironic tone, he commented that his “last two” brain cells “are fighting each other.”
Hadid later reassured her followers: "I know it sounds disturbing, but this is my reality. This is truly an ebb and flow of every day for me for the last 15 years."
He thanked the support received: “Every day is a new day and tomorrow I hope, God willing, that it will be better.”
A history of hospitalizations
Hadid was diagnosed with Lyme in 2012, a disease transmitted by infected tick bites that also affects her mother, Yolanda, and her brother, Anwar.
The model has documented her struggle on a recurring basis. In September 2025, he shared images from a hospital with the message: “I'm sorry, I always disappear, I love you.” This was her second public hospitalization, after the one in 2023, in which she described it as “confusing” to be sad and sick despite having “the greatest blessings, privileges and opportunities.”
Her sister Gigi Hadid expressed her hope that Bella felt “as strong and good as she deserves,” while her mother Yolanda called her a “Lyme warrior.”
The model also shared comedy videos about daily life with chronic illnesses, reflecting the constant effort to maintain humor in the face of the limitations imposed by her body.
