David Harbor and Millie Bobby Brown will reunite in a new Netflix series
A few months after concluding the successful series “Stranger Things”, David Harbor and Millie Bobby Brown will team up in a new series
Just a few months after wrapping filming on the hit science fiction series “Stranger Things,” Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbor are preparing to team up again on a new project for Netflix. The streaming platform gave the green light to an as-yet-untitled spy thriller series that will reunite the actors on screen, this time playing an estranged father and daughter.
The series, produced by A24 and Netflix, will be written by Jack Thorne, known for his work on the “Enola Holmes” films, starring Brown, and for being co-creator of the acclaimed series “Adolescence.”
According to the official synopsis, David Harbor will play Matt Wolfe, a disgraced FBI agent who now works as a security expert. His life takes a turn when his daughter, Rebecca (played by Brown), an FBI agent determined to follow in his footsteps, disappears during a mission, forcing him to return to the world of espionage he had left behind.
Jinny Howe, Netflix's head of fiction series in the U.S. and Canada, expressed her excitement about the project, according to Entertainment Weekly: "We're thrilled to bring this spy drama to life with an extraordinary group of talent we've been fortunate enough to collaborate with before. Jack Thorne's ability to find the deeply human story within a thriller is unmatched, and seeing Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbor reunite, this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis, is something to look forward to." "The public is going to love it."
A relationship that transcends the screen
The collaboration between Brown and Harbor is not limited to acting, since both will also serve as executive producers of the series. The idea for the project came from Harbor himself, as Brown hinted on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast: "It's David's idea, so I thank him. Our relationship is father-daughter, but Netflix will always be our home."
This new work comes after months of rumors about possible tension between the actors during the filming of the final season of “Stranger Things.” Unverified reports suggested that Brown had filed a complaint against Harbour, prompting an internal investigation on set. However, Harbor addressed the issue publicly, confirming that there was a “disagreement,” but describing it as a normal situation in a long-standing relationship.
"I don't know if people have families and friends that they spend a lot of time with over 10 years; arguments and disagreements arise from time to time. It was just a breakup and a reconciliation that, once we put everyone aside and talk to each other, everything is fine. We adore each other, and always have." David Harbor – Actor
Brown backed up these statements, stating that their relationship became “much more creatively collaborative” over time and that she will always be grateful for the shared experience.
