The city of Glendale announced Sunday night that it has terminated its contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to house detained immigrants.
In a statement According to a statement released by the press, Los Angeles County city officials announced they will no longer accept individuals detained during federal immigration raids at Glendale Police Department facilities.
“This is a local decision and was not taken lightly,” Glendale officials said in their statement, following violent protests in Los Angeles over recent ICE raids and the deployment of National Guard troops.
