Newsom objects to Trump’s order to send the National Guard to Los Angeles
California Governor Gavin Newsom said Trump’s instruction to mobilize the National Guard is intentionally inflammatory.
California Governor Gavin Newsom objected to President Donald Trump's instruction to send National Guard troops to the city of Los Angeles.
Newsom said on social media that Trump's order was “intentionally inflammatory,” that the only thing he would accomplish was escalate tensions in Los Angeles and charged that the president posted to thank you to the military for their actions when he was not even in the city.
In a statement, the White House said Saturday that Trump was ordering the deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles to attack what he called the lawlessness that has spread in California.
