Amid the ongoing political tussle in Pakistan, a caretaker prime minister has been named to oversee the general elections to be held later this year. For this, the name of Anwar ul Haq has been stamped. Outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition Raja Riaz finalized his name after two rounds of consultations on the matter. Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz and outgoing Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have given information about this.

It added that outgoing PM Shehbaz and outgoing Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Raja Riaz have sent advice to President Alvi regarding the appointment of Anwar ul Haq as Caretaker Prime Minister. Which he immediately approved and appointed the Prime Minister under Article 224A of the Constitution. Please tell that Anwar ul Haq comes from Balochistan. Significantly, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar is an MLA from the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).

At the same time, after being appointed as the Prime Minister, Kakar tweeted, "Thank God for giving me this opportunity to serve the country as the Prime Minister of Pakistan." I will try to give my best in the interest of the country.

Regarding the meeting with Shahbaz Sharif earlier, Raja Riaz said, "We have earlier decided that the caretaker prime minister should be from a small province, and a person with impeccable personality should be on this post." Finally the name of Kakar has been agreed upon. At the same time, Sharif thanked Riyaz and said, after playing an excellent role as the leader of the opposition for 16 months, Riyaz has shown great seriousness and understanding in this critical period. Under Article 224 (1A) of Pakistan, the President has to appoint the name suggested by the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition as the caretaker Prime Minister.

According to the Pakistani constitution, elections must be held within 90 days if the National Legislature is dissolved prematurely. But, the Election Commission of Pakistan now has to conduct elections after delimitation according to the new census data. In this process, the Election Commission may take more than 6 months. Therefore, Kakar can remain the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the next 6 months or more.
