Strong wave of heat hits this week in southern California
The National Weather Service forecast that extreme heat will arrive as early as Wednesday; conditions are ripe for brush fires.

After a respite during the summer with pleasant temperatures, Southern California is preparing for an intense heat wave this week.
The National Weather Service (NWS) The NWS forecast that the increase in heat will begin this Wednesday, when thermometers in some locations could reach or exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
“A prolonged period of heat is expected this week, and this threat will be combined with a high risk of large fires, where watches and warnings have been issued,” the NWS posted on social media.
