Democrat JoAnna Mendoza launches ads in English and Spanish: “We are gaining a lot of strength”
The electoral race is gaining strength in District 06 of Arizona, where Democrat JoAnna Mendoza leads the polls against Republican Juan Ciscomani
Democratic candidate JoAnna Mendoza for Arizona District 06, who seeks to defeat Republican Juan Ciscomani in November, released two campaign promotional videos in English and Spanish.
One of the ads, titled 'Heat', will be launched during broadcasts of the 2026 World Cup, but also in local programming. It focuses on the high costs of products and services, due to inflation and the policies of President Donald Trump's government.
"From day one, this campaign has focused on people. It is about listening to the communities, understanding the problems that families are experiencing and once again having leadership that truly serves our district," the candidate highlighted to this newspaper.
While the other video message, titled “Never Expires,” an ad that highlights veterans and their service.
“We are gaining a lot of strength and sharing a clear vision: lower costs, create opportunities for families and ensure that government improves the quality of life for every person in southern Arizona,” Mendoza added.
Sources close to Mendoza's campaign confirmed that both ads have a six-figure budget, recalling that the candidate “raised the most funds among all competitive candidates in key states last quarter.” Mendoza reached the figure of $2.4 million dollars, more than double Ciscomani, who achieved $1.1 million dollars.
Mendoza, also known as “Jo,” made the decision about the veterans announcement because she is a veteran herself and the district she is running for has “the ninth largest population of veterans.”
With his announcements, Mendoza strengthens his path to the November 3 race, after a House Majority PAC poll, published by Politico, reported that he leads the race in District 06 against Ciscomani.
“In a direct confrontation, Mendoza leads Ciscomani with 47% to 45%,” says the report.
It seems like minimal progress, but the report indicates that when potential voters know more about Mendoza, the advantage between her and Ciscomani increases.
“After receiving balanced information about both candidates, Mendoza leads with 52% to 44%,” the survey indicates. “Ciscomani has low popularity in the district: his approval rating stands at 29% compared to 46% disapproval.”
Mendoza served in the Navy and Marine Corps, where she was a Marine Corps military instructor and also a Marine Corps instructor, with a focus on training future Marine instructors.
The candidate is part of the Democratic group “From Red to Blue”, a list of candidates who could take positions from the Republicans in the House of Representatives.
The information shared with this newspaper indicates that the advertisements in Spanish are not “voice-over,” but rather recorded directly in this language. District 06 has a 20% Hispanic population.
