Grupo Pachuca judged the arrest warrant against Jesus Martinez as exaggerated
For Grupo Pachuca, the arrest warrant against its leader Jesus Martinez is a disproportionate measure that undermines the rule of law
Hours after the news about the arrest warrant against the president of Grupo Pachuca, Jesus Martinez, the aforementioned corporation described this measure as exaggerated and disproportionate, and demanded that the authorities are obliged to act in accordance with the law and not in a biased manner.
Grupo Pachuca believes that had they appeared as the authorities demanded, Jesus Martinez's rights would have been violated, and that for this reason they decided not to attend the third summons and instead seek legal protection against any precautionary measures taken by the authorities.
Martinez faces an arrest warrant for having negotiated with Fox Corporation/Tubi, a network separate from the Fox Sports franchise owned by Grupo Lauman, when the latter supposedly had the right of first refusing to negotiate the renewal of their commercial
But Pachuca rejected this offer, considering that Grupo Lauman failed to comply with the terms of the contract, accumulating several months of unpaid bills due to a series of business difficulties the company experienced over the past 18 months.
For this reason, Fox Sports Mexico, which belongs to Grupo Lauman, initiated a commercial lawsuit agreement before the Court The 40th Civil Court of Mexico City issued precautionary measures attempting to prevent the broadcast of the Pachuca vs. Mazatlan match, as well as the exploitation of broadcasting rights by third parties, despite existing rulings in favor of the Pachuca and Leon teams to cancel the contract. It was then that Jesus Martinez and Gerardo Cabrera, legal representative of Grupo Pachuca, were summoned to appear as part of the proceedings against them, case number 014/1515/2025, accused of the crime of "disobedience by private individuals," even though the measures on which the allegation was based had already been definitively suspended by the Sixth District Judge in Civil Matters of Mexico City and by the local court itself. Thus, Grupo Pachuca detailed the following in its statement:“On October 3, 2025,The legal defense of the executives was notified of the possibility that both would be formally charged and improperly deprived of their liberty in a highly irregular manner, and even worse, with the imposition of justified pretrial detention, despite the fact that the alleged crime does not warrant it according to the legal framework.
“Given the disproportionate nature of this measure, it was decided that neither of them would attend the scheduled hearing and, instead, a petition for indirect amparo (constitutional protection) would be filed to protect their freedom and guarantee respect for due process,” the extensive press release detailed.
Arrest Warrants
In light of all these events and their failure to respond to the latest summons issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office, arrest warrants were issued against Jesus Martinez and the legal advisor of this corporation, Gerardo Cabrera Acosta, directly citing the 40th Civil Judge of the City Court from Mexico
The statement establishes that the judge: “Acted excessively in the commercial lawsuit, violating the fundamental rights of our directors, who are being defended against the acts of intimidation carried out illegitimately against them.”
Finally, Grupo Pachuca hopes that the Judiciary “rectifies and acts in accordance with the “law” and that the legality of the process is restored, with their ultimate desire that their conflict with Grupo Lauman be resolved “for the benefit of the fans and Mexican soccer.”

“Given the disproportionate nature of this measure, it was decided that none of them would attend the scheduled hearing and, instead, an indirect amparo lawsuit would be filed to protect their freedom and guarantee respect for due process,” the extensive press release detailed.
