Kristi Noem Becomes Advisor to Canadian Mining Exploration Company
Kristi Noem will work for a Canadian company dedicated to projects related to gold and copper extraction in British Columbia
Kristi Noem, former Secretary of Homeland Security, agreed to become an advisor to NovaRed Mining, a Canadian mining exploration company.
Although the Republican from South Dakota currently serves as Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas, she will work for the private initiative supporting the aforementioned company in the undertaking of critical mining exploration projects using, in addition to its technological platform, artificial intelligence.
To date, NovaRed Mining is focused on the acquisition and development of projects related to gold and copper extraction in British Columbia.
Through a statement, Brian Goss, executive director of NovaRed, noted that the profile of the former government official fit the objectives projected to be achieved in the medium term.
“Kristi brings exceptional leadership experience and a deep understanding of the political, regulatory and economic factors that influence infrastructure investment, resource development and long-term economic growth.
“His perspective and experience working with government and industry will be valuable as NovaRed advances its corporate development strategy and evaluates new opportunities,” part of the letter states.
In response, Kristi Noem promised to provide the company that incorporates her into its ranks with all the knowledge acquired during her time as governor of her home state and in just over a year of being part of President Donald Trump's cabinet.
"I look forward to supporting the company's strategic objectives. In an increasingly competitive global environment, safe and reliable access to critical minerals has become an important economic and national security priority.
“NovaRed is seeking opportunities in sectors that will continue to be important for long-term growth and supply chain resilience, and I am excited to contribute my experience in public policy, stakeholder engagement and strategic planning as the company advances its initiatives,” details another letter.
So far, it is unknown if the 54-year-old politician will alternate in the position designated by the president of the nation or if she plans to resign to dedicate herself fully to working in the private sector.
