Marco Rubio denies hidden message by photo with clothes equal to Nicolás Maduro's
The Secretary of State assured that he did not seek to provoke and joked saying that Maduro “copied” him
The Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, denied that there was a message behind his photo with the same clothes that Nicolás Maduro wore on the day of his capture and even joked that the Chavista leader “copied” him.
“It's a good suit. I mean, I like it. It's comfortable,” the head of American diplomacy declared, smiling, when being asked about that photo during an interview with the NBC network.
“He copied me because I had it before. I don't know when he bought his. I didn't even know that was his. Ultimately Wow, it's a comfortable outfit. I don't know. There wasn't any message. I didn't even know they were taking a photo of me, he added.
Last Tuesday, official accounts of the White House released a photograph of Rubio, onboard the presidential plane Air Force One on the way to China, in which he was wearing the same gray sports clothes from the brand Nike that Maduro wore when he was captured in a American operation in Caracas on January 3rd.
Rubio's image rapidly viralized on social media mainly by Republican activists and House B officials lanca, who remembered the arrest of the former Venezuelan president, who today faces charges for drug trafficking from a prison in New York.
The head of American diplomacy has in recent weeks in a greater presence in social networks as speculations increase about a com petition between himself and the vice president, JD Vance, for the Republican presidential nomination for the 2028 elections, in which Donald Trump cannot run.
