Steve Bannon shows off FBI director for claiming crime is going down
Steve Bannon, former White House advisor, questioned an FBI report pointing to an alleged decrease in crime in the United States.
Steve Bannon, former White House advisor during Donald Trump's first stage in the presidency, exposed Kash Patel, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), by pointing out that the figures that allegedly indicate a decrease in crime in the United States do not match reality.
According to the FBI, between March 2025 and February of this year, violent crimes in the United States decreased by 9.1%
In addition, the federal agency's balance sheet mentions a reduction of 19.1% in robberies, 18.7% in homicides, 7.2% in rapes and 6.9% in aggravated assaults.
Regarding property crimes, there is talk of a decrease of 12%, while vehicle thefts allegedly decreased by 21.6%.
Regarding burglaries and thefts, a decline of 15.7% and 9.5%, respectively, is mentioned.
These declines presumably followed a 9.3% drop in violent crime and a 12.4% drop in property crime between 2024 and 2025.
However, the data presented does not convince Steve Bannon who, during a broadcast of his podcast “War Room”, refuted Kash Patel's figures.
“Kash, I love you, brother, but I don't want to hear any more statistics about how crime is going down, how crime is going down, all that,” he said.
The 72-year-old political strategist then stated that no coherent American believes the numbers presented by the federal agency.
"Anyway, no one believes the crime statistics, I'm sorry. They still don't feel safe walking the streets of Memphis, in these other places, unless they see the National Guard. I don't want to hear about crime statistics, I just don't. They're not going to change anything, they're not going to influence any votes. We have to act urgently, we have to get things moving!", he assured.
Despite the allegations, no official from the FBI office commented on the matter.
