Latino businesses on Olvera Street face serious decline since the pandemic; the place has been affected by the absence of tourists after immigration raids
The merchants of Placita Olvera, practically where the city of Los Ángeles was born, unite to save the iconic place, which has been hit by the absence of tourists, with the closure of dozens of stores.
For more than 95 years, the Olvera Street area, site of the Placita Olvera is located, has been a traditional place to experience Latin culture that has been enjoyed for generations.
Families from Mexico and from other places in Latin America have established all kinds of businesses in their place to share their cultural heritage, such as food, crafts and music, in the heart of Los Angeles.
