More than 1,400 unionized nurses from Keck Medicine, part of the University of Southern California (USC), began a 24-hour strike this Thursday at two hospitals in the Boyle Heights area of ??Los Angeles Los Angeles.
Healthcare workers participated in the protests, while nurses' representatives continued contract negotiations.
The work stoppage was initiated by registered nurses at USC Keck Medicine and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Boyle Heights.
