California Governor Gavin Newsom made clear his support for Karen Bass in the race for mayor of Los Angeles in the June 2 primary elections.

In a statement published by the current mayor's campaign team, Newsom highlighted the work that Bass has led in the city of Los Angeles, especially in the face of the homeless crisis and public safety.

“The work that Karen Bass is doing in Los Angeles is strengthening our entire state, with an 18% decrease in homelessness, while it increased nationally,” highlighted the governor of California.
