Student from Los Angeles, in ICE custody until hearing in December
An immigration judge postponed until December 2 the case of high school student Benjamin Marcelo Guerrero Cruz, arrested on August 8 in Van Nuys
An immigration judge postponed this Wednesday the case of student Benjamin Marcelo Guerrero Cruz, who has been in ICE custody since August, so he will remain at the Adelanto detention center until the immigration asylum hearings begin, in December.
Guerrero Cruz, 18, originally from Chile, was detained by federal immigration agents on August 8 while walking his dog in the Van Nuys area.
Teachers and students held a demonstration this Monday, November 3, in front of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) headquarters to demand the release of Guerrero Cruz, a senior at Reseda High School.
