Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass officially launched her reelection campaign this Saturday with a rally in the city center, promising to make the metropolis a safer and more affordable place.

Bass formally kicked off her reelection campaign two days after the third anniversary of her inauguration. The mayor was surrounded by family, friends, and allies at the Culinary Arts event space of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. In her speech, Bass mentioned the challenges facing the city: the recovery from the Palisades fire in January, the housing affordability and homelessness crises, as well as the federal government's crackdown on undocumented immigrants living in Los Angeles.
