The forest fires that are ravaging Spain and France have already left thousands of hectares consumed by flames and more than 330,000 people evacuated.

Specifically, the fires are located in the central and southwestern regions of each country, although in Spain new outbreaks have appeared in the eastern area.

The incidents, which have been described by the authorities as unprecedented and catastrophic, are still active.

In Madrid they remain out of control, despite the fact that their advance towards the capital has slowed, according to regional authorities.

The Community government has urged residents to take extreme precautions, since the fire is still active.

French President Emmanuelle Macron met with an emergency cabinet to address the situation.

In that country, the fires are already burning just 15 kilometers from Bordeaux. Although rain and favorable winds prevented the fires from getting worse during the night.

However, according to weather forecasts in France, temperatures are expected to rise again to reach 40°C by the end of this week.
