A helicopter from the Secretary of the Navy recorded an incident this Monday in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, after presenting a mechanical failure during takeoff maneuvers.
According to official information, the aircraft, model MI-17, suffered a loss of power in the main engine while attempting to lift from facilities in the Fourth Naval Region, which forced the crew to make an emergency landing.
The mishap occurred within the naval zone, where the helicopter failed to complete its climb, leading to a controlled maneuver to return to ground.
The Navy reported that, despite the incident, no injured or dead people were reported, and the corresponding security protocols were activated to protect the crew and avoid greater risks.
So far, the agency has not detailed the extent of the damage to the aircraft, although it was indicated that the incident was the result of a technical failure during takeoff.
“It should be noted that thanks to the expertise and training of the flight crew, there were no human losses, no injuries to regret, and no material damage.
