They discover body of ex prison in an agricultural property in Mississippi
The man had been released from prison on August 14 and was last seen two days later on a security camera near the jail
The Neshoba County Sheriff's Office in Mississippi reported that a worker mowing the lawn discovered the partially decomposed body last Friday around 1:45 p.m., on a property located in the Fork community, half a mile from Highway 15.
Sheriff's deputies, state investigators and The county medical examiner arrived on scene and began gathering clues to identify the body.
Victim Identification
On Wednesday, authorities confirmed that the body belonged to Charles Warner Ingram, 43, of Philadelphia, Mississippi. The state Medical Examiner's Laboratory was able to identify him using his fingerprints.
Ingram had been jailed on July 13 on warrants related to court failures. He remained in custody until August 14, when a judge ordered his release.
Two days later, on August 16, security cameras captured him returning to the detention center, where he drank water from a fountain before leaving on foot in the direction of the 15 Freeway.
Investigation Underway
Police said the condition of the body suggests Ingram may have been on the property for between four and six weeks, although officially it had only been 15 days since his last recorded appearance.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of death and the circumstances that led Ingram to the farm property.
