The Mexican Karim López will be among those eligible in the NBA 2026 Draft
The 2026 NBA Draft lottery left a result that can modify the future of several franchises. The Washington Wizards obtained the first pick global and they were in a privileged position to choose one of the main figures of a generation that already generates enormous expectations within the league.
The draw held this May 10 defined the order of the first 14 choices of the next draft and confirmed Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls as the teams that will complete the top four.
Washington, which entered the day tied with Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn Nets for the best odds to stay at number one, ended up winning the lottery and will now have priority access to names like AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson.
According to the Mock Draft published by SB Nation, the main candidate to be chosen in the first place is AJ Dybantsa, forward of BYU. The analysis highlights his ability to create offense, attack the hoop and resolve individual situations thanks to his combination of size, power and ball-handling. The 2.06 meter player appears as one of the higher-priced prospects in recent years.
Utah would pick Darryn Peterson, Kansas shooting guard, at second position, while Memphis would target Cameron Boozer, power forward from Duke. Chicago, for his part, appears linked with Caleb Wilson, another forward with athletic profile and defensive projection.
Karim López appears among the big names of the Draft
One of the aspects that caught the attention in the preliminary screenings was the presence of Mexican Karim López among the lottery selections. The ju player, who played this season in the New Zealand Breakers of the Australian NBL league, was placed by SB Nation in position 13, belonging to the Miami Heat.
López has closely followed the NBA radar for several years thanks to his physical conditions and his offensive versatility. The report res high his ability to handle the ball being a large forward, in addition to his scoring potential and ability to contribute defensively.

Brooklyn Nets, Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets complete the list of teams that made up the lottery. The Draft will take place on June 23 and 24.
