Getting closer: Tesla is preparing a big surprise
Tesla registered a new logo for the Roadster and signs return about the arrival of the most anticipated electric supercar
Tesla reignited the expectation around the Roadster, one of the most delayed and talked about projects in the automotive industry. This time it was not because of an explosive statement from Elon Musk nor because of a track test, but because of a detail that many interpret as a clear sign that the electric supercar is still alive within the company's plans.

The brand recently filed a new patent linked to the Roadster name. The registration includes an emblem completely different from those used until now by Tesla and appears related to electric vehicles, batteries, charging systems and even official clothing. The movement once again raised the expectations of fans who have been waiting for years for concrete news about the model.

A different logo for a highly anticipated car
The new design registered by Tesla is committed to a more aggressive and futuristic image. The emblem is shaped like a hexagonal shield facing downwards and has four vertical lines at the bottom. In the upper area the word “Roadster” appears with a modern typography that is quite different from the usual aesthetics of the American firm.
This is not the first time that Tesla has made moves related to this vehicle in recent months. In February it had also registered two other trademarks linked to the Roadster. One included only the name with the same stylized typography and the other showed the silhouette of a low, aerodynamic sports car that clearly recalled the prototype presented in 2017.
Elon Musk once again generates expectations
The problem for many Tesla fans is that the Roadster accumulates a long list of unfulfilled announcements. Elon Musk assured several times that the car was close to arriving, although the deadlines were constantly changing.
In March, the businessman published in Even months ago he had mentioned April 1 as a possible reveal date, although many took it as a simple joke.
The reality is that the model was originally supposed to go into production in 2020 and since then its launch has been postponed again and again.
The promises surrounding the electric supercar
When Tesla first showed off the Roadster, it promised truly impressive numbers. Musk assured that the vehicle could exceed a maximum speed of 400 km/h, accelerate from 0 to 160 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and offer nearly 1,000 kilometers of autonomy.
The starting price announced at that time was around $200,000, a high figure even for the high-performance car segment.
As time went by, the promises became even more ambitious. Musk even claimed that the Roadster could reach 60 mph in less than a second and spoke of an optional package developed with SpaceX with small rocket boosters integrated into the vehicle. He even hinted that such technologies could enable certain “flight” capabilities.
