McDonald's is quietly removing self-service soft-drink vending machines
The new modality of many fast food establishments is preparing the customer their drink behind the counter and McDonald's will not be the exception
Amidst an effort to continue modernizing its restaurants, fast-food chain McDonald's has been quietly and progressively eliminating self-service soft drink vending machines in different locations around the country.
According to a company statement, the objective of these changes is to adapt to the new consumption habits of its customers, who are increasingly leaning toward service. io for car and home consumption within the same premises, so it is expected that the transition will be fully achieved in 2023 as restaurants are remodeled.
Although for the burger chain this change is a step to modernization, for customers it's a readjustment to the self-service convenience to which they were already accustomed.
Although self-service stations, especially drinks stations, have characterized many fast food restaurants in recent years, now the mode of the new establishments is preparing the customer e your drink behind the counter, this in order to maintain inventory control, portions, cleaning and maintenance of these self-service machines; while prioritizing efficiency and digital ordering.
McDonald's launches a line of special drinks
On the other hand, McDonald's recently expanded its beverage menu, introducing new flavors of soft drinks and craft sodas, which will be available starting next Wednesday, May 6.
Among the new flavors that can be enjoyed stand out: Mango Pineapple Refresher, Blackberry Passion Fruit Refresher, Strawberry Watermelon Refresher, Sprite Berry Bl ast, Orange Dream and Dirty Dr Pepper. “Six fresh flavors for different moods, moments and styles: there’s a drink for every vibe,” the communication highlights.
Plus, customers can also get coasters inspired by each drink in a limited edition designed by Susan Alexandra; each includes a $10 McDonald's Arch Card to enjoy the experience.
