The British brand has decided to take its resistance experience to an even more exclusive level. The result is a machine designed for customers who They want to live as close possible to a real competition car, without the need to be professional pilots, but with the same dose of adrenaline.

A project with resistance DNA
The model, known as MCL-HY GTR, is born directly from the program that the firm will develop in the World Endurance Championship. That connection with the competition is not a minor detail, since it completely defines its philosophy.
Although it shares conceptual base with the racing prototype that will compete in the WEC from 2027, this vehicle is oriented reserved for private use in circuit. There are no concessions to urban use nor to street approval. Its natural place is the track.
Distraction Hybrid Power
One of McLaren's most striking moves has been simplifying the mechanics to the maximum. While the competition car incorporates hybrid systems, this version for customers eliminates them completely.
The heart of the model is a 2.9 liter biturbo V6 engine that delivers around 720 CV. The absence of electrical systems is no coincidence, it responds to the search for lower weight and a more direct response.
This reduction in mechanical complexity translates into something highly valued by purists. Rader sensations, immediate reactions and a purer connection with the vehicle in every corner.
The design of the MCL-HY GTR does not follow the usual rules of a conventional sports car. Each part has a specific function related to performance.
The large air channels on the sides, the marked wheelarches and the presence of a large central fin work together to keep the car glued to the ground. The rear spoiler dominates the rear and reinforces stability at high speed.
Added to this are competition-specific solutions such as slick tires and completely optimized airflow. The result is a car that prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency above any other consideration.
A privilege for a chosen few
McLaren is not thinking about mass production. This model will be part of an exclusive program called Project Endurance, reserved for selected customers.
Although the brand has not revealed the price, everything points to a high figure within its more exclusive catalogue. Beyond the car, the package includes on-track experiences, technical assistance and training with professionals.
The first units will arrive at the end of 2027, although development will start much before.
