The post wasn't accident. A series of images shared by Jim Farley was the perfect opener about the next big step d eFord in the electrical field. It was not a formal announcement, but it was enough to make it clear that the brand has something important on its hands.

What you can see is barely a foreshadowing, a silhouette that gives a glimpse of a compact pick-up. However, behind that glance there is a much deeper strategy.

A shift towards truly affordable
The focus changes obviously. The brand no longer targets only large trucks or premium models. This new project is located e n a more earthly segment, with an estimated price closer to $30,000 dollars, a figure that could make the difference in sales volume.
The recipe includes simplifying processes and cutting costs without sacrificing what is essential. According to what has been given a glimpse, the vehicle will have less comp components, fewer assembly points and optimized production. All this responds to a clear goal, to make the electric car profitable from the first day.
A pick-up designed for everyday day
Far from the image of a robust truck for extreme work, this proposal aims at an urban audience. It will be a more compact pick-up, with dimensions closer to medium models, designed for those who look for practicality without giving up technology.
Ford seems to have understood that there is a great opportunity in that niche. Drivers who want to make the jump to electricity, but who so far are held back by high prices or non-functional proposals for their routine.
Farley himself did not hide his enthusiasm after seeing the progress of the project. In his publication he expressed “Holy heaven! I can't wait to show the world.”
The message arrived accompanied by another comment that also shows the internal moment of the company “Product Day at Ford! It was Doug's last and showed us the latest evolutions in the Universal Electric Vehicle project.”
This development also has a symbolic value, as it will be one of the last works led by Doug Field within the company. In addition, it introduces a new technological base that could extend to future models in different segments.
For now, the name remains a mystery, although some rumors point to a possible return of “Ranchero.”
