Higher Education in India: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued new rules regarding the appointment of Assistant Professors in all higher education institutions. Now in the direct recruitment of Assistant Professors in higher education institutions, NET / SET / SLET has been made mandatory by making minimum qualification criteria. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification in this regard.

The notification has been issued by UGC Secretary Professor Manish Joshi from the date of June 30, 2023 and the new rules have been implemented with effect from July 1, 2023.
