Maribel Guardia talks about her dismissal as guardian of her grandson: “It worries me”
The Costa Rican actress assured that she found out about the change of guardian through the media and did not receive formal notification.
After it became known that she was removed as guardian of her grandson José Julián Figueroa and that the show host Addis Tuñón was left in her place, the renowned actress and dancer Maribel Guardia expressed her position before the media, appearing visibly upset and worried about the minor's future.
Guardia confirmed that, like the general public, he learned of the change through the press and emphasized that he never received formal notification about this decision. She revealed that they had already tried to remove her from office in November, but their response was that they did not want to continue with the process to avoid more family conflicts.
“I am concerned about the child's inheritance.”
One of the points that most worries the actress is the possible economic impact that this situation could have on her grandson's assets. In a conversation with the press, Maribel declared:
"I'm also worried about the child's inheritance, because obviously they're going to pay the lawyers from there, who knows what an exorbitant amount, who knows how much the child will end up with in the end." Maribel Guardia
The artist hinted that there is a real risk that the legal expenses of the process will consume a large part of the assets that should belong to José Julián.
But beyond the economic, Guardia launched a criticism against Addis Tuñón, whom he pointed out for his alleged partiality towards the child's maternal family. He argued: "You cannot be judge and party; there is a conflict of interest. This person is not going to defend the child, he is going to defend the mother, because he is her family."
In addition, Maribel questioned the lack of real link between Addis Tuñón and José Julián, stating that in eight years the host never attended a birthday party, a Christmas celebration, or even sent the child a gift. “He never stopped at the house,” he said.
The confrontation between Maribel Guardia and Imelda Tuñón, José Julián's mother, continues to be tense. And now this chapter is added, in which the actress made it clear that she is not satisfied with the decision, although she did not mention what her next steps would be.
