UP Education Service Selection Commission will appoint all types of teachers in Uttar Pradesh
Recruitment of teachers from higher to basic education, instructors and aided minority colleges will be done through the commission.
The formation of the much-awaited Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission was given the go-ahead on Tuesday. Recruitment of teachers from higher to basic education, instructors and aided minority colleges will be done through the commission. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission Bill was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It will be passed in the upcoming session of the Legislature. Due to this, the long wait for teacher recruitment at various levels will end soon.
According to the draft of the commission, the commission will select teachers of non-government aided colleges, teachers of non-government aided inter colleges, assistant teachers in aided junior high schools and affiliated primary schools, assistant teachers in council schools, instructors. Along with this, the selection of teachers of affiliated colleges, affiliated non-government aided colleges and aided minority colleges will also be done from the commission. It will be a corporate body and its headquarter will be at Prayagraj. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that the cabinet has approved the proposal for setting up a new commission. He informed that after the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission becomes effective, the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission and the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board will be abolished.
The Higher Education Minister said that till now different selection processes is adopted by the institution-level selection committee, selection board, selection commission for the selection of teachers in different departments. To give uniformity to this, this commission is being constituted for the selection of qualified teachers and instructors.
There will be 12 members with the chairman
The new Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission constituted by the state government will have a chairman and 12 members. The Chairperson and Members shall hold office for a term of three years from the date on which they assume office or till they attain the age of 65 years. No person can become the chairman or member more than twice. It is believed that the post of chairman of the new commission will be governed by the appointment of a senior IAS or a prominent educationist. And among the members, priority will be given to judicial service and experienced teachers. All classes will be represented in it.
The way will be clear for more than five thousand recruitments
The formation of the new Education Service Selection Commission was most closely watched by the youth and the competitive examinees. From Prayagraj to Lucknow, they were also agitating for its formation and release of new recruitments. The process of formation of new Education Service Selection Commission is going on for a long time. Because of this, the tenure of the members in Higher Education Service Selection Commission and Secondary Education Service Selection Commission ended one by one but new members were not posted.
Recruitment of 5000 posts is stuck
On the other hand, for Assistant Professor, TGT-PGT recruitment, applications have been taken for a total of about 5000 posts and the recruitment is pending. For this more than 14 lakh candidates are applicants. The situation was such that the matter went up to the High Court, after which the formation of the new commission was speeded up. It is believed that work will be started soon after completing other formalities.
