A man was fatally shot early Sunday morning near a nightclub in Midtown West. The shooter fled and remains at large
A 39-year-old man died early Sunday morning after being shot near a nightclub at West 46th Street and 12th Avenue, in the Midtown West area, very close to the Intrepid Museum. The New York Police Department (NYPD) reported that officers arrived at the scene around 4:13 am and found the victim with gunshot wounds to the back and groin. He was immediately transported to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity had not been released at the time of publication. Police confirmed that no arrests have been made and that detectives are working to identify the shooter. Details about the motivation for the attack or whether the victim had left the nightclub in the area have not yet been released. This comes after another recent shooting in Midtown. The homicide occurred a week after the shooting that injured Kris Boyd, a defensive end for the New York Jets, outside the Sei Less restaurant, also in Midtown Manhattan. Boyd, 29, was shot around 2 am on November 16, following an altercation between his group and another inside the restaurant. The player remains hospitalized with a bullet lodged in his lung, according to police sources. Jets coach Aaron Glenn said he spoke with him and expressed confidence in his recovery. Although the two shootings occurred in the same area of ??Manhattan, authorities say they are not related. In Boyd's case, detectives have reportedly identified a possible suspect, while Sunday's attacker remains at large. The NYPD is actively pursuing both investigations to clarify the facts and apprehend those responsible.
