George Santos will participate in extreme reality after his controversial time in politics and prison
The former Republican congressman will participate in a demanding program as he seeks to reinvent his public image
Former Republican congressman George Santos, known for the scandals that marked his brief time in Congress, will once again appear on the public scene, this time as a contestant on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, a reality show that tests the physical and mental resistance of its participants.
According to information published by The New York Times, Santos will be part of the fifth season of the program, whose recording takes place in the jungle of Malaysia. Contestants will face exercises inspired by military training, including tests with chemical gases, highly demanding courses and survival challenges.
"I stopped sitting on the couch and tried something new! And it changed EVERYTHING!" wrote George Santos on his X account when announcing his participation.
From expelled congressman to reality star
George Santos' career has been marked by controversy. He was elected as a representative of New York in 2022, but months later multiple falsehoods about his personal and professional history came to light.
He later faced accusations of fraud, theft from campaign donors and making false statements about his assets. After pleading guilty, he served a prison sentence and later attempted to return to politics, although he quickly abandoned his new candidacy due to lack of funding.
A physical challenge to change your image
In the reality show, Santos will share competition with other celebrities, including former NBA player Matt Barnes and actress Ruby Rose. The network describes the program as “the ultimate test of physical, mental and emotional endurance.”
His participation represents a new attempt to remain current in public opinion, after he also recently faced a new controversy related to online betting platforms.
