Target announces recall of children's sandals because decorative pearls pose a choking hazard
The recall covers about 211,000 pairs of Cat & Jack brand children's sandals sold at the retailer for $20.
This Wednesday, July 16, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) alerted consumers about the voluntary recall of approximately 211,000 pairs of children's sandals by the Target retail chain because the shoes are decorated with pearls that may pose a choking hazard to children.
So far, about 23 complaints have been reported related to these sandals; the cases have not specified injuries; However, according to investigations, the shoe has decorative plastic beads, which were found to be easily detached, endangering small children.
In this sense, the CPSC recommended that consumers stop using the sandals and contact the retailer to return the product for a refund. Customers can also contact Target at 800-591-3869 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. m. to 10 p.m. m. (CST) or visit the product recall page for additional information.
