The Los Angeles Police Department(LAPD) was declared by a jury not responsible for the shooting in which an offi cial shot and killed Hispanic Valentina Orellana-Peralta in December 2021 in a Burlington store in North Hollywood.
The jury verdict in favor of the LAPD was announced this morning Thursday May 7 in a court in Los Angeles.
The wrongful death lawsuit against the LAPD focused on Valentina's death and was filed by her family in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
