Kidnappers kill their victim during a police rescue operation in Sinaloa
Several agents deployed a search and rescue operation, but unfortunately the victim died at the hands of one of the criminals
A kidnapping victim was murdered by his captors in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa, when police attempted the rescue, and in the confrontation one of the kidnappers was killed by the agents.
In a statement, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of Sinaloa reported that it received a report of the kidnapping of a person in the community of Aguaruto, adjacent to the city of Culiacán, and in this several agents deployed a search operation.
This caused a persecution by the Police, the note. “The alleged person deprived of freedom was murdered by his captors”, while “one aggressor was killed, another was captured and the agents are looking for another alleged kidnapper.”
Agents of the Mexican Army, state and municipal police participated in the operation, and they located the alleged criminals when they were trying to escape on the Culiacán-Navolato highway, near the Aguaruto Penitentiary Center.
The events occurred in Sinaloa, a state that since September 2024 has faced a wave of violence linked to internal disputes of organized crime, with Culiacan as one of the main foci of confrontations, disappearances, blockades and federal operations.
In recent months the Mexican security forces have also carried out various operations throughout the country to weaken criminal groups and their funding sources, amid the pressure from the U.S. Government to intensify actions in this matter.
