Lionel Richie breaks silence after his hospitalization
After postponing two concerts of his "Sing A Song All Night Long" tour, the singer confirmed that he will return to the stage on June 30 in Pittsburgh
Just days after having made a worrying exit from the stage in the middle of a concert in Minnesota, singer Lionel Richie and his team have broken the silence about his recovery process and confirmed the date of his return to his “Sing A Song All Night Long” tour.
It was on June 24 when the Grammy winner became ill while performing the song “Dancing on the Ceiling” at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota. These led him to sit on stage to continue with the show.
However, after a couple of interruptions in the show, the decision was made to suspend it, setting off alarms among the singer's most loyal followers.
In an attempt to calm the concerns of his fans, Lionel Richie shared a message through his work team in which he expressed his sadness at having to postpone two dates of his tour.
“Lionel is heartbroken to have to postpone these two concerts and is looking forward to performing again for his fans,” reads the statement confirming the delay of his performances scheduled for Friday, June 26 in Chicago and Saturday, June 27 in Columbus, Ohio.
The statement concluded by extending an apology to the public who purchased their tickets for these dates: "We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to fans who have tickets for these two concerts. The new dates will be announced shortly."
